The Meewasin Valley authority was formed to develop and protect the South Saskatchewan River Valley and preserve elements of nature, heritage and culture in the valley. Meewasin is Cree for “beautiful” this is a fitting description of the Meewasin Valley Trail, a 25-mile path along the river that is perfect for biking and hiking. In the winter, you don’t have to leave the city for wonderful cross-country skiing. You can also travel the river in an 8-person Voyager Clipper canoe with a guide.
