One of the city’s major landmarks, the steel Victoria Bridge, was opened in 1907 as the city’s first traffic bridge that crosses the South Saskatchewan River and connects the three communities that became present day Saskatoon. Due to age and corrosion, the bridge the bridge has been condemned.

The bridge remains open to pedestrian and bicycle traffic for the time being; however the bridge carried 10,000 automobiles every day, and these vehicles are being rerouted to other bridges until the Victoria will be rebuilt to her original splendor.

This crossing connects Victoria Avenue with 19th Street.
